Propylene Glycol vs. Vegetable Glycerin
E-Liquid
Producers get VG from
vegetables. It's a natural, organic and safe substance. Its effect on
throat is much smother than PG, but the last one is much thinner.
Vegetable glycerin doesn't contain sugar but it gives a refreshingly
sweet and luscious aftertaste. You can meet it in cosmetic products.
Propylene glycol is also
sweet. It causes a throat hit and sometimes allergic reactions. PG is used in
pharmaceutical, medical, and cosmetic products for skin and body.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), PG is safe.
You can use mix of VG and
PG. There are ratios: 60%/40% and 70%/30%. It has a great balance
between throat hit, an
amount of vapor, and flavor.
Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin? The choice depends on your
personal preference.
